Adobe Reader X with TerraGo Toolbar

Like all TerraGo software and GeoPDF® solutions, TerraGo Toolbar is integrated and compatible with Adobe® products including its newest release, Reader® X. While TerraGo Toolbar installs and operates normally in Reader X, the new “Protected Mode” security feature may prevent older versions of the TerraGo Toolbar from running properly.

Adobe notes that "Protected Mode is a new feature for Adobe Reader X that extends Adobe's rapidly evolving defense-in-depth security strategy for mitigating and preventing security vulnerabilities. Protected Mode protects users' applications, data, and machine by limiting what malicious files can do and access. The technology is robust yet relatively new in the software world. There are only a few products such as Google Chrome and Microsoft® Office 2010 providing the features. By default, Adobe Reader X enables Protected Mode.

Protected Mode is an optional security model that can be turned on and off. It is on by default in Reader X and off by default in Acrobat® X. When off, Reader and Acrobat operate under the security model of the previous version of the respective software.
