The primary goal of the National Spill Control School (NSCS) is to serve as the nation’s leading resource for oil spill response training and advance the practice of oil spill management. NSCS aims to teach industry professionals how to use the latest technology to improve processes for assessing and responding to oil spills. This case study highlights how NSCS developed curriculum that introduces students to GIS-enabled tools such as TerraGo software and TerraGo GeoPDF maps as geospatial solutions for navigation, operational coordination and data collection.
