Jan Meyer, Product Documentation and Technical Writer
I’ve been with TerraGo for a little more than a year but have been writing technical documentation, such as online Help, user guides, training material, installation guides, and release notes, for software companies the past 15 years. Throughout my time at TerraGo, I’ve also had a few opportunities to wear a “marketing hat,” which was a lot of fun adding some sizzle to my writing.
I began my college career at the University of Cincinnati, but I ultimately graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and enough credit hours to claim a PhD. Since then I’ve owned my own business, worked in sales and managed several departments, but the most satisfying position I’ve ever had is Technical Writer. I love to write.
For fun, I like to spend time with my husband, play with my two little rescue pups, work in my oversized yard, and swim. I enjoy good food, good wine and movies and music from the 1930s and 40s. With one exception—Jo Rowling because I fantasize that one day I’ll own Mrs. Weasley’s wand—I study 19th century poetry and literature from authors such as Tolstoy, Flaubert, Kipling, Wilde, Poe, Doyle, Carroll, Keats, Andersen, Longfellow, Stevenson, Twain, Eliot, Dickens, Austen, and the Brontë sisters.
