Jessica Sonday, Technical Account Manager
I am currently on my third title within TerraGo Technologies, and I still love it! I started here in April of 2010 when I came on board as a part of the customer service support team. In December 2010, I transitioned into the role of sales engineer supporting the field sales force. As of fall 2011, I am embracing my new position within the Federal team as a Technical Account Manager primarily for the IC/DOD.
I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2004 with a major in Geographic Information Processing, and a minor in Economics. From there I went to graduate school at Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) to study Geographic Information Science and Agricultural and Resource Economics. I was also a TA of Advanced GIS, Environmental Conservation and Sustainability, and Environmental Law. In my spare time I enjoyed the endless rain, but what I miss most about Oregon is Tillamook Cheese, which is why I have some imported a few times a year.
I first moved to Atlanta in 2007 to work as a radio broadcast meteorologist at the Weather Channel. After three years of overnights, I was ready to move on and happily embraced the move to TerraGo. When the opportunity to move to DC opened up, I took it! I am excited to explore all the city has to offer, and am training to run my first half marathon in March. When I am not running, I devote a lot of time to reading, knitting, and pretending like I know how to cook. That last one is definitely a work in progress!
