John Timar, Director of Strategic Alliances

TerraGo Team Member
Director of Strategic Alliances

As a native of Atlanta, I was excited to join TerraGo Technologies after a decade of working with start up companies and early stage ventures in support of the national security and public safety communities.  In my current role as the director of strategic alliances, I develop collaborative solutions with systems integrators and independent software companies to drive growth across existing channels and enter new markets.

Before joining TerraGo, I led the public sector business at Eurasia Group – a global political risk consulting firm – and was also a founding member of Control Risks Government Services.  From 2004-2006, this subsidiary was the fastest growing component of Control Risks worldwide, grossing over $40 million.

I began my career serving as a US Navy SEAL, conducting special operations across the globe.  Along the way, I earned a MPP from the University of Chicago and BA in Economics and International Relations from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife trekking around DC and at home watching documentaries.  I actively train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and compete as part of the Capital Jiu-Jitsu team.  Additionally, I am a roots music enthusiast and on occasion can be found playing blues guitar at local venues.
