Xuewei Ren, Software Engineer

I started my geospatial career 20 years ago, working as the field engineer to do the seismic survey in Chinese National Seismic Bureau. After that, I came to US and started my graduate studies. After finishing 2 MS degrees in Geology and Computer Engineering, I started working in Lucent as a software engineer for the product globalization. Later, I had worked as a software engineer in Hitachi Software, Autodesk and Rollins.

In October 2010, I joined TerraGo Technologies. During the last 15 years, I’ve been mainly focusing on R&D projects. In Lucent, I was responsible of R&D for the product globalization systems. In Hitachi Software, I had put a few new technologies in Any*GIS system and enhanced the GIS functions on AutoCAD. In Autodesk, I was responsible of R&D for the mobile GIS system. And in Rollins, I had developed a few technologies to enhance Rollins’ enterprise mobile system. I like to face the problems and come up with the new technologies to solve the problems.

My hobbies are tennis and classical music. And, during the winter, I also take the ski trips to different places.
