Key Benefits of TerraGo Publisher for GeoMedia
By publishing complex maps, images, and data as GeoPDF products, anyone anywhere can interact with your geospatial information via a Web interface, mobile device, or laptop. Your GeoPDF users can also add text, images, audio, and video to spatial points or draw polygons and lines, measure distances, highlight places and objects, integrate with a GPS, and more in a single map or in extensive TerraGo MapBooks*.
• Comprehensive Coordinate System Support: With TerraGo Publisher’s enhanced projection engine, you have the ability to generate GeoPDF products from a broad range of source coordinate systems. TerraGo GeoPDF products conform to the specifications published by the Open Geospatial Consortium as an OGC Best Practice and those published by Adobe as proposed geospatial extensions to ISO 32000.
• Ultimate Control over the Exported GeoPDF Product: Select from several advanced options to optimize output quality, including custom color mapping to address the specific requirements of various media.
• Geospatial Collaboration Capabilities: Publisher for GeoMedia gives you the ability to generate GeoPDF products that inherently support geospatial collaboration. GeoMarks are automatically enabled on all exported files, so when used along with the free TerraGo Toolbar, you can view geospatial information, add observations, and share field intelligence locally or by round-tripping information to an enterprise geospatial system or GIS.
• TerraGo Mobile™ Compatibility: TerraGo Mobile gives field personnel the power to interact with and add intelligence to geo-registered maps and images directly from their handheld mobile device. GeoPDF files created with Publisher for GeoMedia can be configured for easy use and high performance in the TerraGo Mobile application, optimizing intelligence gathering, spatial-based collaboration, and situational awareness.
What is TerraGo GeoPDF?
TerraGo GeoPDF map and imagery products are georeferenced versions of standard PDF files, serving as highly portable containers for mapping information, imagery and data from geospatial applications. When used with Adobe Acrobat or free Adobe Reader software, GeoPDF products present multi-layered, interactive maps and imagery offline with longitude and latitude coordinates embedded and displayed. Additional TerraGo client software such as TerraGo Toolbar or TerraGo Mobile allows GeoPDF users to measure length and area, integrate with GPS, and view and add robust geo-referenced information. In addition, a user can place points, lines and polygons as well as associated comments, images, video, audio, hyperlinks, and more on GeoPDF layers. GeoPDF products serve as the ideal platform for roundtrip collaboration, transferring data from a complex GIS system to a user and from a user back to the GIS system. TerraGo software creates GeoPDF maps and imagery that conform to the specifications published by the Open Geospatial Consortium as an OGC Best Practice and those published by Adobe as proposed geospatial extensions to ISO 32000.
*When used with TerraGo Composer, the TerraGo GeoPDF files can be used to create comprehensive MapBooks and other geospatial applications that integrate your organization’s unique business content and workflow.
