TerraGo Technologies® Secures Significant New Funding and Expands Business in First Half of 2010

As TerraGo Receives $3 Million from Investors, the Company Continues to Add New Customers, Partners, and Key Personnel

ATLANTA – Aug. 11, 2010 – TerraGo Technologies®, a leading provider of geospatial collaboration software solutions, continued its success in key business areas in the first half of 2010, including achieving a 24 percent increase in total year-over-year revenue and adding $3 million in funding from investors. TerraGo also added new customers in and beyond its core U.S. government business, bolstered its government sales team, and made significant solution enhancements with new and upgraded geospatial collaboration products.

“Our growth in 2010 demonstrates the attention government and commercial organizations are giving to extending geospatial intelligence throughout their enterprises, and the key role TerraGo GeoPDF® solutions play in those efforts,” said Rick Cobb, president and CEO of TerraGo. “In addition to maintaining steady growth in new customers, we also completed a round of expansion funding with our existing investors and our newest strategic partner, HitachiSoft. This funding will help fuel our ability to rapidly deliver innovative solutions to customers around the world.”

With nearly 900 organizations now using TerraGo software to create GeoPDF maps and imagery, TerraGo is seeing growth beyond its core U.S. government business. The company added 29 new customers in the first half of the year, several of which were from the emergency management, utilities, and petroleum market sectors.

Demonstrating the key role of TerraGo solutions in emergency response, a number of TerraGo’s customers have been involved with deploying GeoPDF maps in support of the Gulf oil spill. For example, the U.S. Geological Survey announced it is using its Emergency Response Map Index Tool (ERMIT) to make GeoPDF maps available on DVDs to assist responders, including U.S. Coast Guard personnel and others, with planning, navigation, and field data collection.

TerraGo’s international business continues to expand, with the company adding new customers such as Eau de Paris, the public water utility agency of Paris; DEXIP of France; Omnilink in Australia; and the Korean Cadastral Survey Corporation in Seoul, Korea.

Organizationally, TerraGo added two key members to its government sales team in the second quarter:

―    Mary Chahalis joined TerraGo as the account manager for U.S. intelligence programs. Chahalis is a former IBM executive with extensive experience delivering technology solutions to the Intelligence Community as well as the commercial industry.
―    John Timar joined TerraGo as the director of strategic alliances, a position focused on the company’s relationships with prime contractors for U.S. federal government programs. Timar is a former executive at Eurasia Group, and he previously served as a special operator with the U.S. Navy.

In terms of products, TerraGo made several significant enhancements to a number of its key applications in the second quarter, including:

―    TerraGo Publisher™ for GeoMedia version 5 software was released for general availability. This solution enables Intergraph GeoMedia customers to publish complex maps and imagery as highly portable and interactive GeoPDF files for easy dissemination and use by field personnel.
―    The company launched TerraGo 3D Composer™, which enables users to publish portable, actionable 3D GeoPDF maps and imagery from various elevation data sources.
―    TerraGo delivered an upgrade for the free TerraGo Toolbar™, which is deployed extensively throughout government organizations as well as commercial businesses, enabling anyone — from advanced geospatial users to personnel with no GIS experience — to access and collaborate with complex maps and imagery via GeoPDF files. The new release adds support for 3D GeoPDF files and includes several other enhancements and fixes.
―    The company completed work on a new release of TerraGo Mobile™ that adds capability for mobile application users with handheld devices to draw lines and polygons as GeoMarks on GeoPDF files.

On the partner front, TerraGo extended its network of channel partners to include SPADAC (www.spadac.com), a leading provider of spatially enhanced technology solutions. TerraGo and SPADAC signed a strategic agreement under which SPADAC is delivering an integrated solution that enables its EarthWhere® customers to create, customize and distribute mission-critical geospatial assets as GeoPDF files. TerraGo also furthered its strategic relationship with ESRI by signing a partnership agreement with GIS Inc., a leading ESRI distributor, to support its strategic initiative of enhancing and more rapidly distributing on-demand, server-based solutions.
