Yesterday, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) The Honorable James R. Clapper took the stage at GEOINT 2016 for what will be his last keynote address at the most important gathering for our community.
He spent much of his speech discussing the true transformational nature of technology. With the rise of the Internet of Things, the Intelligence Community faces both challenges and opportunities. As highlighted by Trajectory Magazine, better technology will yield better intelligence. Conversely, establishing community-wide policies for leveraging these innovations may prove to be challenging.
“We can look at the pace of technical innovation as a scary thing -- something that could take away from the advantage the U.S. Intelligence Community has now -- or see it as something that will utterly revolutionize our lives for the better,” said Clapper.
